Entitlements are in the news. From the White House to every State House across our nation, entitlements are the talk of town. Entitlements make up much of the budgets of federal, state and local governments. But entitlements aren't only in government budgets.
Entitlements are in our thinking. For decades, we've come to think that we are entitled to a job, a house, a car, health, happiness and more. Of the many words we speak throughout the day, far too many are "me, myself and I." Even though entitlements are in government budgets and in our thinking, we don't find entitlements in the life of Jesus. He could have demanded a throne to which He was entitled, but He humbled Himself to death on a cross.
