Mothers have indispensable roles and influence in the lives of their children.  God challenges us as families to raise our children in the fear and wisdom of the Lord which is incredibly important and amazingly challenging.  You might have an adopted child.  Maybe you are struggling to raise your children in a blended family.  Are you single, divorced or widowed and raising kids alone?  Perhaps you are looking for encouragement while raising a special needs child or maybe you are just looking for the joy you’ve lost while serving your family.  Our schedules are often so full and busy that we go through life feeling incapable and inadequate.  Many of us don’t have someone to share our burden with.  We can be sure that if God has called us into the role of mothering, He will give us everything we need to equip and enable us for the purpose He has set before us.

Here at The Creek, we have an invaluable tool just waiting to be used!!  Mom to Mom is a mentoring ministry that follows the biblical structure set up for women in Titus 2:3-5.  This ministry is a safe place for women who are married or single, Christian or non-Christian, to learn from godly, wise women who are further down the road than where we are.  Here, we can share the joys and frustrations of motherhood and explore the purposes and promises God gives to us as a parent.  Whatever your need and whatever season of life you are in, we’re here to support you by providing help with parenting skills, hope in the powerful God who entrusted you with your children, and an opportunity for heart to heart sharing - MOM to MOM.

“Teach the older women to live in a way that honors God.  They must not slander others or be heavy drinkers.  Instead, they should teach others what is good.  These older women must train the younger women to love their husbands and their children, to live wisely and be pure, to work in their homes, to do good, and to be submissive to their husbands.  Then they will not bring shame on the word of God.”

Additional Information:

Curriculum:

Mom to Mom: Growing Together, is the curriculum we will be using for the 2011/2012 term of Mom to Mom.  Study topics are listed on page 3, along with our schedule.

Times and Location:

Childcare is located in the Preschool wing (south end).  Our member meetings begin at 6:30p.m. with Sign-In and Refreshments.  We open with Prayer and Announcements followed by approximately 30 minutes of DVD instruction as a large group.  Approximately 50 minutes of table discussion follows large group time and our meetings end with group prayer at 8:00p.m.

Fellowship Opportunities:

We start the year off with a get-to-know you meeting and end each semester with a fellowship party.

Group Dynamics:

Each woman accepted into Mom to Mom is assigned to a mentor (or 'Titus 2 Mom').  The Titus 2 Mom will encourage them through the year and lead the discussion time during the meetings.  You will sit at the same table each meeting so you can get to know everyone in your group on a more personal level.  Bring a group of your friends, or sit at a table and connect with new friends - it's your choice.  Group sizes are limited (usually 4-6 per group.)

Registration:

If you are interested in participating in Mom to Mom, we encourage you to submit your application in as soon as possible.  Space is limited and applications are accepted on a first come, first served basis.  If registration closes, remaining applicants will be placed on a waiting list and contacted if space becomes available.
