Whose legacy most inspires you and why?

What is something that stood out to you from this sermon? How did this message deepen your faith?

How do you think relationships contribute to a life well lived? Share in your group about one significant relationship you have. How has that person shaped you into who you are today?

Establishing strong community can be challenging. What makes it so difficult for you?

Read 2 Timothy 1:5. What type of faith legacy did Timothy receive from his family?

What faith legacy did you receive from your family of origin? How did that shape your view of God and the Church?

What is the faith legacy you are hoping to leave to those in your own family? What are you doing to bring this about?

Read 2 Timothy 1:2. What kind of mentoring relationship was Paul in with Timothy?

What do you think are some qualities of a good discipleship relationship?

Read 2 Timothy 4:11-12 and 4:19-22. What do Paul’s words here show you about the value he places on peer relationships?

How have you seen peer relationships either draw you closer to the Lord or pull you further from the Lord?

What can your Life Group be doing to ensure that your time together is not just about friendship, but also about formation?

What are some key ways that your Life Group can help each other invest in the lives of each other’s children?

Who has mentored you in the faith? How have they impacted your life? Are you mentoring others in the faith? If so, how?

This week pray that God would create in your life group an ever deepening relationship with one another so that Christ may be formed in each of you.

What we choose to leave behind says a lot about us. We all want our families, friends, and businesses to be secure and stable when we’re gone, so we set up wills, trust funds put all sorts of plans and strategies into place. But how often are we investing into the people, relationships, and decisions that have the potential to last for eternity? Here are some next steps to help you explore what it looks like to leave behind a worthwhile legacy:

To go deeper in your relationship with God and others, here are some next steps for you:

  1. Join us for Welcome to the Creek! This is a place where you can find out more information about who we are as a church. This experience occurs the 1st and 3rd weekend of every month in South Room 2 during the 11am service. If you attend Shelby Street, you can make an appointment for a Welcome to the Creek session.

  2. Visit the Legacy Sermon Resource page for further resources on 2 Timothy.

  3. Check out the Dwell app. This is a new audio Bible app that keeps Scripture in your ears and on your heart. You can download this app on your mobile device. You can get more information about it at dwellapp.io.
