Serve
Welcome to The Creek. We are glad you are here. We want you to be able to find a place in the church where you can connect to both learning / growing relationships and a place to serve. We cannot make anybody get involved, and we cannot make anyone grow in their relationship with the Almighty God, but we can provide you with opportunities to do just that. The decision to grow and to get connected will have to be yours. Let us know how we can help.
God Wants You to Grow and Serve:“Therefore, rid yourselves of all malice and all deceit, hypocrisy, envy, and slander of every kind. Like newborn babies, crave pure spiritual milk, so that by it you may grow up in your salvation, now that you have tasted that the Lord is good.” 1 Peter 2:1-3
“But grow in the grace and knowledge of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. To him be glory both now and forever!” 2 Peter 3:18
“It was he who gave some to be apostles, some to be prophets, some to be evangelists, and some to be pastors and teachers, to prepare God’s people for works of service, so that the body of Christ may be built up until we all reach unity in the faith and in the knowledge of the Son of God and become mature, attaining to the whole measure of the fullness of Christ. Then we will no longer be infants, tossed back and forth by the waves, and blown here and there by every wind of teaching and by the circumstances and craftiness of men in their deceitful scheming. Instead, speaking the truth in love, we will in all things grow up into him who is the Head, that is, Christ. From him the whole body, joined and held together by every supporting ligament, grows and builds itself up in love, as each part does its work.” Ephesians 4:11-16
Suggested Steps for Getting Involved:
| Step #1: |
Pray about how God wants to get you connected to a learning/growing
group of people at The Creek. This is a group that you can study the
Word of God with and pray with. This can take place at church, in
homes, on Sunday or at any time. See the Connections Catalog for possibilities or contact Jeff Derico, Minister of Discipleship. |
| |
|
| Step #2: |
Connect yourself by attending a class or group. If you have difficulty or would like some assistance contact the Minister of Assimilation or the Minister of Adult Discipleship. |
| |
|
| Step #3: |
Pray about how God wants to get you involved in serving His Kingdom
through service in the church. Look through the list of opportunities here at The Creek, locally or globally. Use your God given skills and passions as your primary guide to
where you should serve. |
| |
|
| Step #4: |
If you do not know what your gifts are and you do not really know what to do, take the Spiritual Gifts Assessment for some guidance.
|
| |
|
| Step #5: |
Involve yourself by contacting one of the staff members listed
and sharing your desire to serve. Time commitments and training
requirements vary and questions are always welcome. If you get
involved and find that you do not feel fulfilled at your ministry, back
up and try again until you find what it is that you believe God wants
you to be doing. |
